Our Story

With over 20 years experience in the food industry(not bad for a 21 year old!! Or so I’d like to believe!!), I have been involved in all aspects of the industry from my time in kitchens as a commis chef to head chef in fine dining restaurants. I then gained invaluable experience and knowledge in the management aspect of the catering business, as a food operations manager for multiple large-scale companies to be involved in the management team for the athletes at the London Olympics 2012. (Thank god I was feeding them and not competing!!) Throughout all this madness, my passion for food did not stop me from catering for events for family and friends in my spare time.

As I was catering for more & more family and friends’ events I realised my house was getting messy and what do we all do best when this happens, I gently persuaded my lovely Mum & Dad to give me permission to build a commercial kitchen at the side of their home(funny enough the extension came with 2 full-time washer uppers!!) and this is where Lusso was born!

From these humble beginnings we relocated to a commercial food production unit in the lovely town of Ballincollig.

As our business has grown from strength to strength, we needed an infrastructure to ensure we continuously deliver exceptional quality and service, and this is where Ian comes into the mix. Ian’s background in operations and production is the natural complement to our growing enterprise & between us, we have over 50 years (that will explain the wrinkles & the grey hair!!!) experience in the catering industry.

Together with our amazing & talented team, our vision for Lusso is clear, “To bring people together to create memories and celebrate moments through sharing our decadent artisan treats”. Even though we have big plans, we will always remain an independent business that has grown from the support of the people around us.
